A Federation Forces prototype mobile suit developed with the aid of Chlust Morses, a scientist who defected from Zeon's Flanagan Agency. This was the first Federation MS equipped with the special control technology known as the EXAM system. This machine was originally based on a GM Ground Type, but its performance was insufficient to realize the EXAM system's specs. Eventually, the GM head which housed the system was transferred to a Gundam Ground Type, which then underwent extensive modification. This included an improved generator, and magnet coating for greater maneuverability. In terms of weaponry, chest-mounted machine guns and wire-guided missiles provided a substantial increase in firepower from the base model. Its most distinctive feature, however, was the aforementioned EXAM system. When activated, this provided a potent advantage in combat. Unfortunately, it was highly unstable. During a test run, the system went out of control, with grave consequences to the test pilot. The system continued fighting, with no distinction between friend and foe. Because of this catastrophe, a limiter was added, and the machine was assigned to pilot Yuu Kajima. Though this machine was used under gravity, it can also be equipped with a backpack for combat operations in space.
