Unit Details

An experimental mobile suit tested in absolute secrecy as part of the Gundam Development Project conducted by the Federation Forces and Anaheim Electronics. This machine was the trial stage of the GP series. As an experimental machine, it features a variety of new equipment, including a radome-shaped Minovsky Particle Interference Wave Searcher mounted on its back that serves as a wide-area sensor. Additionally, while it has no rapid-fire weaponry, its long-range beam rifle gives it the highest class of MS firepower available at the time. This makes the machine extremely lethal from long range. It also has large verniers for high-speed combat, a Core Block system, and other systems for improved mobility. By incorporating all of Anaheim Electronics's current technologies, it was hoped that the end result would be an all-powerful MS. But because cramming every last feature into a single machine put a huge burden on the pilot and resulted in a number of operational issues, it was decided that the various features would be divided among multiple machines, which led to the later development of the GP series.
