This general-purpose mass-produced mobile suit was produced in greater numbers than any model in the Principality of Zeon's Zaku series. Able to operate both in space and on the ground with minor modifications, it has abundant options in terms of equipment and features superior versatility, extensibility, and ease of production, as well as excellent handling and reliability. It could be considered the greatest masterpiece in the history of the mobile suit. Deployed as Zeon's mainline MS during the One Year War, it would continue to see use on the front lines long after successor machines were developed.
