Mobile Suit Z Gundam
A mainline mass-produced mobile suit, developed by the Federation Forces after the One Year War as a successor to the GM. It incorporates a variety of improvements to increase its performance relative to the base machine. These changes are relatively minor, and its performance is not much higher, but it has a new computer and enhanced communications systems, and some units even have retractable sub-thrusters. It thus achieves improved performance, while retaining the original version's ease of production and maintenance. In the late U.C.0080s, the demand for simple mass production types spiked, and this machine was produced on a scale almost rivaling that of the Federation's mainline GM.
