This machine was developed to compensate for the low firepower of the AEUG's mass-produced mobile suit Nemo. A Nemo II type was initially developed in an attempt to increase its power by raising its generator output, but it had problems that could not be resolved. As a result, the Nemo II was redesigned into this support MS equipped with a beam cannon. This gave it higher firepower even without an increase in generator output.
