Unit Details

An upgraded version of the general-purpose mass-produced mobile suit GM that was developed by the Federation Forces during the One Year War. Following the original GM produced at the end of the war, and the minor changes that went into the GM II, this was a newly designed mainline mass production type. This machine actively incorporated new technologies such as a backpack identical to that of the Gundam Mk-II, while retaining its original ease of production. This enabled it to handle melee and close combat, and gave it better mobility and maneuverability than previous mass-produced MS. Its handheld beam rifle and shield were improved with higher firepower and durability, and it had a full lineup of optional weapons. Thanks to its high versatility, this machine could also function as a medium and long-range support type. Its performance was high for a mass production type, so there were multiple production facilities. However, due to constant adjustments to production numbers and changes in equipment, it was never extensively mass-produced.
